Susie Kershaw

My goal is to bring forth the most well-rounded loving yoga teachers who are fully aware of the gift and great responsibility of teaching yoga.

Even at a very young age, Susie had a sense that we were more than just the physical body. She has always been very sensitive to energy. This led her to an exploration of different modalities and she became a Reiki Master and reader of Akshic records.

She had been a fitness instructor for of 25 years she took her first yoga teacher training (Yoga Fit) in 2000. At that point Susie still knew that there was so much more to yoga than just asana as the concept of the energetic body was still forefront in her mind.

“My style is light hearted and fun yet mindful of alignment and the bountiful energy potential from the healing art of yoga.”

In 2006, Susie took the 200-hour yoga teacher training and it finally started to all come together. The fire was lit even more intensely than it had previously been and her curiosity of concept of the energetic body was validated.

At that point Susie was introduced to the teachings of Rod Stryker (Para Yoga) who teaches a style of yoga steeped in the ancient tradition of pranayama, meditation, kriya and asana. The teachings and importance of lineage and tradition resonated deeply with her and she’s been studying with Rod ever since.

She also has additional certifications in Restorative Yoga and Experiential Anatomy with Judith Lasater PhD, one of the nations foremost yoga instructors, who was an early disciple of B.K.S. Iyengar and helped to popularize both Iyengar and Restorative Yoga in the west and is one of the founders of Yoga Journal.

In 2016, Susie completed her 500hr certification with Cyndi Lee from the well known OM Yoga in NYC.

Susie's classes are always extremely well attended and well rounded, incorporating the energetic principles and teachings of yoga with the physical (asana).
